About PhotoConsent
From a photographer’s challenge to a digital solution for communications teams
PhotoConsent helps municipalities, educational institutions, organisations and businesses collect, organise and retrieve documentation for photos and video.
The platform makes it easy to see who has given consent, what they have agreed to and how long it remains valid. It replaces cumbersome paper forms and scattered records with a simple digital process, giving communications teams a clearer overview and the confidence to use photos and video.
Created to solve a real-world problem
PhotoConsent was founded in 2019 by photographer Martin Sølyst.
As a professional photographer, I experienced first-hand how difficult it could be to collect consent and keep track of who had agreed to what. Paper forms needed filing, emails had to be found again, and the documentation did not always stay with the images.
I looked for a digital solution that worked in practice, both in the office and on a shoot. When I could not find one, I decided to build it myself.
Working with lawyer Johan Løje and a team of Danish developers, we turned the idea into PhotoConsent. From the outset, the aim was to make it simple to collect, organise and retrieve documentation for photos and video.
We continue to develop PhotoConsent in close dialogue with our customers. Their experience and workflows help shape new features and improvements, keeping the platform focused on real-world challenges.
